Summary of 2 months

I noticed that the last time I posted was on November 1. So, I am going to do a abridged summary of the last two months, including our two weeks in California for the holidays.

NOVEMBER

We worked. Simba ate her ribbon. After a few hundred dollars in vet bills, she eventually pooped it out.

We had Thanksgiving. It was memorable. Good friends...

"Whatcha doin' Uncle?"

Good food...

and Little E's bodily fluids.

Full disclosure: that isn't exactly what is happening in this picture, but this is certainly the reaction by the adults in the vicinity.

We also bought tickets for a 2 week holiday vacation in California.

DECEMBER

The month started out with decorating the house.

Then, of course, there was the shopping. We only bought gifts for the kids this year, which made shopping more fun than usual.

The night before our flight, we received the notice that our 2 pm flight was canceled because of the big snowstorm that was moving into New England. So, we were rescheduled for 12 pm which somehow got off the ground. It was the last flight out of Boston. If we had not been able to get out on this flight, the next available flight would have been Christmas Eve. Leaving earlier in the day resulted in a 5 hour layover at JFK. After 15 hours of traveling, we finally landed in Sacramento, not too worse for wear.

We arrived at my parent's house and the Good Mr. Dr. was immediately put to work putting up the Christmas lights.

Darn it! Two sections out! Grrrr....

The Good Mr. Dr. was able to fix his section. Unfortunately, my brother-in-law was not so fortunate.

We were also able to Skype with the family in Panama, which was really exciting. The Queen could not make it down from Fairbanks this year, but we were able to Skype and meet one of the new babies in the family, seen here sporting her team loyalty.

We went to the Railroad Museum with my niece who was so excited she could hardly keep her eyes open.

We spent the last week of our trip in So Cal with the sole purpose of meeting all of the brand new babies in the family. The Good Mr. Dr.'s first grand-niece on his side was a bit sicky when we first arrived, but was still the cutest thing ever.

Tia Mrs. Dr. loves them just like this: asleep.

Yes, she currently has a faux-hawk.

Our good friends, the H's also just had their first, who was only 2 weeks old. This is the smallest baby the Good Mr. Dr. has ever held.

They claim he's a fussy baby and never smiles. We obviously do not believe them.

We also met up with my long lost cousins who have been living in So Cal this whole time. It was great to meet up with them again.

We also spent an afternoon with one of the grand aunties of the Luna clan, who was a lot of fun. She kept telling stories and then ending them with, "And I'll tell you about that next time."

Great Grand Tia J with Great Grand Niece M

Our flight back home was uneventful, except that the Good Mrs. Dr. was pulled aside and patted down by TSA before being allowed to board. They were nice about it though. The cab home was overpriced, but our house is still standing and the cat is still alive - thanks to Ms. C who house-sat the entire 2 weeks.

Now we are preparing for the start of the semester, taking down Christmas decorations, and generally getting back into the groove. It's been a bit hard to get back into East Coast time, but it is good to be home.
